A Fun and Safe After School Alternative to Daycare

Our After School Karate program is an after school sports program, and our sole purpose and intent is to teach martial arts. This sports program is a constructive alternative to After-School Care for children who are interested in martial arts, developing leadership and sportsmanship skills, and getting into shape through physical conditioning.

Our program has become very popular over the last few years, so space can quickly become limited. We do offer a waitlist option and evening programs that may accommodate your schedule in lieu of our After School Karate program.

Please Note: Sykesville Family Tae Kwon Do’s After School Karate program is NOT a day-care or child development program, and we do not intend it to be. It is primarily a sports-related program with instruction in the Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do.

What Does our After School Sports Program Include?

Transportation from Sykesville/Eldersburg-Area Schools

​Students will be transported from their school to our studio in our SFTKD van. Our After School classes begin after 4:00p.

We service many local area school like: Linton Springs Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Eldersburg Elementary, Piney Ridge Elementary, and other area schools (based on program capacity).

Free Martial Arts Camps for Early Dismissal Days

We’ll pick your child up even on early dismissal days (including weather-related dismissals). Our After School Karate students will then participate in a half-day Martial Arts camp (registration required).

Note: Our program does not run on school closure days, including closure due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Martial Arts Classes & Activities

Depending on the program (2, 3, or 5 day), our After School Karate students will participate in regular Martial Arts instruction, exercises, skills development, or discussions

Sibling/Family Discounts are Available!

We offer discounts for evening program Tae Kwon Do students, family members, and military/first responder families.

2 Days

$84 per week
  • After school pickup for 2 days

$89 per week
  • After school pickup for 3 days
  • At least 2 karate classes each week
  • 1 week deposit required ($89)
  • Free uniform (for new students)

5 Days

$99 per week
  • Pickup from school every day
  • 3 karate classes each week
  • Fitness activities on non-class days
  • 1 week deposit required ($99)
  • Free uniform (for new students)

Discount pricing is available for 2-Day and 3-Day programs, multiple family members, first responder families, and military families.
